At Senara, you’ll hear the mantra Live Life Well. But this year, we also want you to Be Kind. Be kind to yourself and the other important people in your life.
A new year offers a chance for a fresh start. While 2020 was nothing short of unexpected, it’s also shown us the importance of taking a moment to breathe and enjoy the things around us.
As a medical spa, we know a thing or two about being kind to ourselves. But we also know that most of the time, that’s easier said than done. But this year, promise yourself you’ll find new ways to be kind to yourself and make time for the pampering or support you need. There are many different ways you can be kind to yourself, from watching what you eat to creating positive experiences for others around you. Join Senara and find new ways to incorporate kindness into your life this year.
Eating Healthy Food
Think about the kinds of foods you put into your body and what that says about being kind to yourself. Your body uses that food to create energy and maintain your body’s health. So if you’re eating fruits and vegetables, you’re providing your body with a powerful source of vitamins and minerals.
This means that the reverse is true. If you’re not incorporating healthy choices into your daily meals, your body won’t have the same type of energy. When you’re missing that healthy food, you might notice that you’re:
- Unable to concentrate
- Easily distracted
- At a higher risk of developing other health conditions, like heart disease, diabetes, depression, and more
Listening to Others
Kindness extends beyond you to how you interact with the people around you. Take a moment to hear what others around you have to say.
With the recent impacts of COVID-19 on our society, many essential workers are having to work long, hard hours. When you interact with those frontline workers, are you taking a moment to listen to them? Even just being kind in the few moments you interact with others can leave behind a lasting impact.
This year, take a moment to listen to what those around you have to say, whether you’re asking a loved one how their day was or giving just a little bit of kindness to a stranger.
Help create opportunities for people in your life and community. Be mindful about what happens around you, and what opportunities you have to offer a little bit of kindness. Is there a way you can support a coworker at your job? Or is there something that a friend or family member has been lacking that you could offer to them? Reach out and share a little kindness with those around you.
Making Time for You
It’s also important to not lose yourself as you take the time to listen to others and help create opportunities. Think about something you did for yourself, whether it was taking a mental health day or treating yourself to something you’ve wanted for a while.
It might feel like you can’t slow down and take time for yourself. But even visiting our health spa for massage therapy, acupuncture, laser hair removal, or our infrared sauna gives you a space where you can focus on yourself.
Be kind to your body and your mind and find a moment every day or every week where you can take a moment to be in touch with what you are feeling.
Embracing Your Strength
Everyone has their own strengths. But by not regularly recognizing those strengths, you’re not being kind to yourself. All of us have our own traits that make us stand out, and that’s something you should be proud of.
Take a moment to look at what you’re good at. Are you a strong student? In what ways do you excel in your job? Do you approach everyone around you with positivity and gratitude? What are your passions When you allow yourself to recognize — and embrace — your own strengths, others around you will start to notice.
Supporting Your Immune System
Part of being kind to yourself includes your physical health and your immune system. Colder weather creates an environment for different viruses, like the flu or COVID-19, to thrive. This makes it even more important to support your immune system during the winter months.
At Senara, our customized IV Therapy is blended with different nutrientsto create an infusion specific to your body and immune system. IV therapy can give your immune system an immediate boost. From there, find other ways to support your immune system, like:
- Eating fruits and vegetables
- Exercising regularly
- Getting enough sleep
- Seeing your chiropractor weekly
