Losing weight is a team effort sometimes. We’ve carefully selected several “tools” to help you achieve results and improve your overall wellness in the process. It’s not enough to just count food “points” or hit the gym for hours a day to create lasting weight loss results. These tools work together to make sure your weight loss journey is part of a bigger change. Individualized for a lifetime of health and wellness.
Weight loss isn’t always easy. For patients who struggle with chronic overeating or have a large amount of weight to lose, adding a prescription appetite suppressant is sometimes recommended. Especially in the early days of a weight loss program, this can be an effective tool while adjusting to your new diet and lifestyle.
If you are a candidate for this therapy, your Senara Medical Weight Loss Doctor will chose an appropriate prescription appetite suppressant for you. They are best used short term in conjunction with a healthy diet and appropriate exercise routine.
Appetite suppressants will help you feel full, removing the frustration of drastic calorie reduction and elimination of addictive processed foods from your diet. Hunger cues in the brain are quieted, allowing you to stay focused on your weight loss journey.

Food Sensitivity Testing
Emerging health trends and research shows that food intolerance could be a contributing factor to weight gain and inability to lose weight. Unlike food allergies or celiac disease, both of which cause a direct and immediate immune system response, food sensitivities or intolerances can cause symptoms that range from mild to severe. Symptoms can take hours or days to appear, and are far more common than food allergies.
Food Sensitivities and Weight Loss*
Food sensitivity reactions can cause inflammation, bloating, and slow digestion. An inability to lose weight, despite positive changes to diet and exercise, is an indicator that an underlying food intolerance may exist. In fact, many popular weight loss programs encourage eating dairy and gluten, two of the most common food intolerances.
By identifying which foods you are sensitive to- we test up to 350 different foods, chemicals, and environmental substances- you can alter your diet to avoid the foods that are impeding your weight loss. Simple as that. Knowledge is power, and you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel once you eliminate offending foods from your diet.
Signs of Food Sensitivity and Intolerance*
Many food sensitivities have subtle symptoms. They are quiet distress signals from our body telling us something isn’t right. And because the reactions aren’t always severe or immediate, you may not have even noticed them.
Below is a list of some of the most common signs of food intolerance. Some symptoms are immediate, some take hours or days to appear, and some are secondary health conditions that arise as a result of long-term consumption of the offending food. Reactions can vary widely from person to person.
- Acid Reflux/GERD
- Flushing (redness of face or body)
- Dermatitis or Eczema
- Weight gain or inability to lose weight
- Chronic Fatigue
- Heart racing or feeling shaky after eating
- Achy Joints
- Depression/Mood Swings
- AutoImmune Disorders
- And more…
Food Sensitivity vs Food Allergy*
Food allergy is an IgE immune system response that is typically characterized by hives, shortness of breath, upset stomach and in some cases anaphylaxis. The most common food allergies are to nuts, shellfish, wheat and dairy. According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, only about 4% of the United States population has a food allergy*. Food Sensitivity Testing DOES NOT detect a full food allergy.
Food intolerance or sensitivity, on the other hand, is much more common than food allergies. These reactions are characterized by digestive disorders, migraines, obesity, chronic fatigue, aching joints, skin disorders and behavioral issues, and other complaints. It has been stated that upwards of 70-80% of the US population has food intolerance*. Unfortunately for many, those food intolerance symptoms are often identified as individual problems and treated as such, thus treating the symptoms and not the cause. Food Sensitivity Testing is now considered the, “gold standard” laboratory method for identification of non-IgE mediated reactions to foods, chemicals, and other substances.
Give your body a natural boost of vitamins and enzymes to enhance metabolism and fat digestion. Lipotropic injections infuse your body with nutrients that aid the break down of fat, stimulate metabolic function, and increase energy. This helps your body shed excess weight faster. Your body will function at peak performance, and you’ll feel more energized.
Each injection has a carefully calibrated dose of B vitamins, Choline, Inositol, and Methionine. When dosed weekly, these lipotropic agents give your body a long-lasting and easily assimilated nutrient boost. The combination of these natural substances is important to helping your body recover from years of unhealthy eating and overconsumption of fat. They also give you lasting, natural, energy, which helps you stay focused on your weight loss journey.
The Senara Medical Weight Loss lipotropic blend features the following amino acids, nutrients, and co-enzymes to aid in weight loss:
- Vitamin B12– Integral to brain and nervous system function, cellular metabolism, fatty acid production, maintaining energy levels, and red blood cell creation.
- Choline– A key component to fat digestion and bile production. It is also emulsifies cholesterol and helps to maintain brain and nervous system function. Works in conjunction with Inositol.
- Inositol– Part of the B vitamin family, inositol is a lipotropic substance that aids in the break down of fat and cholesterol. It partners with choline to remove excess fat accumulation and aid digestion.
- Methionine– An essential amino acid that is not produced by your body and can only be gained through ingestion. It is important to protein and fat metabolism and aids in the creation of both proteins and choline in the body for optimal functioning.
Eliminate Excess Fat
Because lipotropic substances help to breakdown fat- or lipids- they are effective in eliminating excess fat internally. This includes fat accumulation on the organs and tissues, particularly the liver. The modern American diet, filled with excessive amounts of processed and nutrient deficient foods, can cause unhealthy fat deposits on the liver or other internal tissues. Additionally, high fat, and sugar filled foods wreak havoc on metabolism and liver function (the organ responsible for fat digestion). This results in the body creating more fat cells to store the excess. Combined with a diet lacking in fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods, weight gain from fat cell production accumulates quickly.
By including lipotropic injections to your Comprehensive Weight Loss Program, or your own weight loss plan, you can see fat easily slide off your body. Digestion and metabolism are improved, and the body dramatically decreases fat storage.
Improve Liver Function
The liver is responsible for breaking down fats during the digestive process. It produces bile, a complex secretion that emulsifies fat molecules so they can be digested. Detoxification and waste elimination are also carried out by the liver. All of these processes are integral to distributing nutrients to the body. Lipotropic agents support the liver in it’s role and can rebalance nutrient and amino acid deficiencies that were impeding liver function. As liver function improves, your ability to digest fats, proteins, and metabolize waste will be improved. And this improves weight loss results.
Addressing chronic health conditions requires proper nutrition and a healthy balance of vitamins and minerals. Even with a healthy diet, and nutritional IV therapy, adding key supplements is essential to boosting the function of your body. We carefully select a customized supplement and/or meal replacement shake regimen to aid your healing. Putting your body in peak condition.
Years of overeating and excessive consumption of sugar and carbohydrates can create imbalance in gut flora. And when your gut ecosystem is out of balance, digestion and metabolism are slowed. Two key contributors to weight gain, gastrointestinal distress, and immune system dysfunction. Probiotics bring things back in to balance, feeding your body with good bacteria that heals the gut and improves digestion.
EPA-DHA Omega 3 Fatty Acids
Omega 3 Fatty Acids- commonly found in oily fish like tuna, salmon, and sardines- is important to reducing inflammation in the body and decreasing triglycerides. Because consuming large amounts of these fish puts you at risk for unhealthy mercury exposure, we offer a supplement that is mercury free and highly effective. Providing benefits to your cardiovascular health, mood stabilization, healthy blood lipids, and overall health.
