It is probably no surprise to Senara guests, that I am not on board with the American Medical Associations recent ruling of obesity as a disease. As a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and natural medicine practitioner, I know that obesity is the result of physical, chemical, dietary, and (often) emotional imbalance.
- Obesity is what happens when we stop moving.
- Obesity is what happens when we rely on medications to mask symptoms rather than treating the underlying causes.
- Obesity is what happens when we put processed and genetically modified foods in our bodies.
- Obesity is what happens when we refuse to address our emotions constructively.
In fact, almost all of the top health issues facing Americans today, can easily replace the word “obesity” in those statements. Heart disease. Diabetes. Cancer. Etc, etc. We have stopped taking care of ourselves, and allowed our health and wellness to be passively guided by corporations, food manufacturers, marketing ploys, and bad habits. We have stopped doing the work necessary to maintain our overall health, and started to buy in to trends and passing fads instead.
At the end of the day, your health (and weight) is about the choices you make. Obesity is about your choice to take the stairs or take the elevator, get adjusted or take a medication, eat a salad or eat a burger, speak your mind or stay silent. Which will you choose?
I can’t tell you the number of success stories Senara has had over the years of helping our guests become active participants in their health. There is no greater joy for me than seeing a guest achieve their health goals, and helping them along the way. Weight loss is simply a side effect of choosing to take care of your health.
We are here to help.
Live Life Well,
Dr Keith Kramer
