KYBELLA® is a non-surgical treatment for submental fullness, also known as a “double chin.” The treatment involves injecting deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down and absorb fat, into the submental fat under the chin. The result is a more defined jawline and a more youthful, refreshed appearance. The treatment works by destroying fat cells under the chin. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they cannot store or accumulate fat again, which means the treatments’ results are permanent. KYBELLA® is an FDA-approved treatment that is safe and effective when administered by a trained and experienced professional. At Senara Health & Healing Center, our team of experts has extensive experience in administering KYBELLA® treatments to help our patients achieve their desired results safely and effectively. Treatments typically take 20-30 minutes to administer, depending on the size of the treatment area. Patients may experience some mild discomfort during the treatment, but this can be managed with topical numbing cream or ice. After the treatment, patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and redness under the chin, but these side effects typically resolve within a few days.
