A New Year, A New You With Microneedling & PRF Facial

Our New Year’s resolutions can range from recommitting at work to finally making time for the gym or putting yourself first.

Think about trying something new this year, like a microneedling or PRF facial. Microneedling is  a great idea if you’re looking for a way to treat fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, and other skin blemishes. This medical spa service is something we’ve already talked about in a previous post — Microneedling: A Facial That Does More — but it can also help you start the new year with the confidence and self-love you need.

Microneedling and PRF, A Reminder

If you don’t remember what a microneedling and PRF facial is, it’s a medical spa service that targets wrinkles, fine lines, and other blemishes on your skin. At Senara, we use a SkinPen device during our microneedling procedure. During the procedure, the SkinPen will create micro-injuries on your skin to stimulate your body’s wound-healing process. But the micro size of our SkinPen minimizes the cellular damage that is done to your face. As your body works to mend those micro-injuries, it produces healthier, rejuvenated skin.

A PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) takes microneedling one step further and uses your own blood to promote skin rejuvenation. The Fibrin is extracted from your skin and spun in a centrifuge to separate out different growth factors. From there, the PRF can be injected into the skin or used as a masque during a SkinPen procedure. Introducing the growth factors present in your own blood into those micro-injuries is what encourages your skin to grow new and healthy skin.

Whether you choose microneedling or microneedling with PRF, you’ll notice that your skin is rejuvenated and certain signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, have disappeared.

Benefits of Microneedling

In our last post about microneedling, we just scratched the surface of the benefits of microneedling. We’ve already addressed the impact microneedling can have on skin rejuvenation and healing, so now, let’s learn more about the benefits you can expect for your skin.

Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles can happen for a variety of reasons (boo, aging!), but that doesn’t make them any less bothersome. There are a lot of options on the market to help reduce wrinkles on the market, ranging from creams to laser treatments. But since microneedling adds microscopic injuries to your skin to encourage collagen production, it’s your skin that is growing back healthy and stronger. This will give you natural looking improvements without the need to chemically peel or heal that blemished skin.

Address Skin-Related Complaints

At Senara, we understand the impact different skin problems and unwanted blemishes can have on your confidence and day-to-day life. That’s what makes the technology of SkinPen microneedling so impactful. Instead of covering scars or red spots with layers of makeup, or hiding parts of your skin in pictures, you can find a way to encourage your skin to heal itself.

We’ve used microneedling and PRF facials for a wide range of common skin-related complaints, like:

  • Skin pigmentation issues
  • Stretch marks
  • Rosacea
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Scarring
  • Acne scars
  • Alopecia

We don’t want you to feel self-conscious about your skin anymore, and microneedling is an effective way to uncover your healthier, blemish-free skin!

Reverse Sun Damage

Long-term sun exposure can do a number towards damaging your skin. If other products aren’t having an impact on that damage, microneedling is a powerful route to go. As your skin heals the micro-injuries, it will also remove the blotchy, brownish pigmentation that sun damage has caused.

Repair Visible Scars

Scars from acne or other injuries to your skin can leave you with rough, blemished skin. Using a microneedling facial over those areas, however, can stimulate the collagen to repair and reduce the appearance of any visible scars.

Shrink Pores

You might feel like adding micro-injuries to your face would increase the size of your pores. But since microneedling encourages your skin to heal by stimulating collagen production, you will find that your pores will also shrink as they heal.

Improve Aging Skin

We’ve called microneedling a powerful anti-aging treatment, which makes sense when you think about what anti-aging means. We all love healthy, younger skin. So when the micro-injuries heal and leave you with healthier skin, you’ll also notice that some of the common signs of aging have disappeared. Constantly replenishing this healthy skin with another microneedling treatments will continue to keep those signs of aging at bay!

Increase the Effectiveness of Skin Products

If you have large pores or blemishes and scars on your skin, you might have trouble covering them or using different skin products. But since microneedling can help reduce your pores, you will notice that you have more even coverage with your makeup and other products.

Microneedling also just introduced thousands of microscopic tiny holes into your skin, unclogging and opening up those pores. So when you’re using powerful serums to rejuvenate or improve your skin, those products have a better ability to seep into your skin, allowing you to  reap the benefits of those products.
