PREPARING FOR YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC VISIT

We want your visit to the chiropractic clinic at Senara Health and Healing Center & Spa to be as relaxing as possible. Preparing for your first visit starts with scheduling a chiropractic consultation. You can call our front desk at 309.693.9600, or request an appointment via our online form.

Once your initial chiropractic appointment is scheduled, we recommend you do the following to prepare for your first visit:

  • Download and complete our online intake form linked below.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of your appointment. This will allow ample time for you to fill out any additional paperwork, and for our front desk to prepare your file for the doctor.
    • For guests unable to download and complete the online forms ahead of time, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
  • If you have any recent X-rays, MRIs, or other relevant diagnostic test results, please bring them with you to your appointment.
  • Bring your current major medical insurance card and a valid photo ID.
    • If you have been in a recent auto accident and are seeking treatment from our Peoria chiropractic team, please bring with the following:
      • Your auto insurance card and policy contact information.
      • The claim number associated with your auto accident through your insurance.
      • A copy of the accident report.
      • Medical records from any ER, orthopedist, or other medical visits related to the claim.
  • We try our best to maintain the most tranquil environment for our guests, which is why the spa and chiropractic clinic is a cell phone-free zone. Please turn your phone off or set it to vibrate while in the Senara Spa area.

YOUR INITIAL CHIROPRACTIC CONSULTATION
What to Expect

Welcome to Senara Health and Healing Center & Spa, the home of Kramer Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center. In order to help you with your first chiropractic visit, we want to highlight what you can expect.

STEP 1: CONSULTATION AND HISTORY

We want to get to know a little bit about you, your health history, and your major health concerns. We will also discuss the “stress” in your life. By stress, we mean the three dimensions of stress: physical (how you treat your body), biochemical (what you put in your body), and psychological (how your mindset affects your body). We find negative stress is a major inhibitor to achieving overall wellness, and it can have an impact on your nervous system functioning.

STEP 2: RANGE OF MOTION TESTING

You will have a range of motion study performed. This test will determine what your current mobility and function limitations are in both your neck and low back. We need to know where you are when you start your care so that we can compare and show your progress as you continue your chiropractic care.

STEP 3: A NEUROLOGICAL AND ORTHOPEDIC EXAM

The doctor will analyze your posture, do an orthopedic exam, and look for subluxations in your spine. A subluxation is a misalignment in your spine that puts pressure on your nerves and, therefore, cuts off your nervous system communication.

Chiropractors treat subluxations in order to allow your nerves to communicate properly, so that you can achieve optimal health.

STEP 4: X-RAYS

Depending on your condition and the doctors’ exam findings, you may receive x-rays on your first visit. Since we treat your spine, we need to determine if you have any structural damage or changes to your spine (arthritis, curve changes, bone spurs, pinched nerves, etc.). The doctors use your x-rays as radar for your specific treatments.

STEP 5: TREATMENT 

You may receive some sort of treatment during your chiropractic consultation, at the doctor’s discretion. First-day treatment may include an adjustmentphysical therapymassage therapynutritional supplements, or acupuncture.

STEP 6: REPORT OF TESTING AND TREATMENT PLAN

At your second visit, your Senara doctor will review your x-rays and test results with you in detail.  He or she will also present you with a recommended treatment plan and estimated costs. We want you to be an informed and active participant in your health care, and our chiropractic team will take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Our Office Manager will also meet with you to review our Office Policies and discuss payment options with you.

After meeting with your doctor and the office manager, you will receive your treatment for the day. Our front desk staff will help you schedule your appointments at our chiropractic clinic per your finalized treatment plan.


THE THREE PHASES OF CARE

During your initial visits, your Senara Doctor will explain the three phases of chiropractic care to you. Our goal is to help you heal through each phase so that you can achieve lasting wellness. Dynamic healthcare provided at Senara is designed to treat you at each step, which minimizes your chance of relapse and flare-ups. The health of your spine and nervous system is important to us.

PHASE 1: RELIEF CARE

Relief care is necessary to reduce or relieve symptoms or pain, but it does not relieve the underlying cause of the symptoms/pain. It is the same as drying a floor that was getting wet from a leak, but not fixing the leak. Relief care is not permanent. 

PHASE 2: CORRECTIVE CARE

Corrective care is necessary not only to relieve or reduce a person’s pain or symptoms, but also to remove the actual cause of the problem. It is the same as fixing the leak in the floor, not just drying it.

PHASE 3: WELLNESS CARE

Wellness care is necessary to keep your body moving towards health. Your system is constantly working towards one of two paths, health or disease — there is no in between. The desire to continue on the path of health will enable your body to prevent problems from occurring and therefore keep your body at its optimal function level. This occurs after we fix the leak in the floor; we keep up on alleviating the wear and tear of the floor and make sure nothing occurs to cause another leak.

Your Senara doctor uses this information to determine how your body is processing nutrients and to recommend supplements and dietary changes that will help you improve function and can aid in your overall chiropractic care.

Payment Options

Senara believes in the value of health and wellness care for you and your family. That’s why we offer a pricing structure that allows care for all budgets. We participate in most insurance programs, and we also accept auto accident cases. For guests with little or no chiropractic insurance coverage, flexible payment programs can be arranged. Insurance

Most insurance plans are accepted at Senara. We also accept auto accident, personal injury, and most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, please call us at 309-693-9600 to find out if your insurance plan covers care from chiropractors at Senara. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits at no charge before any treatment.

No Insurance

We offer discounted chiropractic care services through ChiroHealth USA to cash-paying guests. If you have insurance coverage for chiropractic care in our office, we can still bill your insurance plan for the benefits you have available. When your major medical insurance benefits are exhausted, a ChiroHealth Membership allows you to continue to receive care at affordable rates with straightforward pricing.

If you do not have chiropractic coverage or would like to avoid using your insurance due to high deductible or copay, the ChiroHealth Membership Discount Plan is the perfect alternative so you can receive cost-effective treatment. ChiroHealth helps you save money, is easy to understand, and allows you to receive the chiropractic care you need with straightforward pricing. Members also benefit from discounted pricing on other services like acupuncture, physical therapy, massage therapy, and lab testing.

To enroll in Senara’s ChiroHealth Membership Discount Program, please visit the front desk at our chiropractic clinic for an application. The annual enrollment fee of $49 — payable to ChiroHealthUSA via check or credit card — is due upon receipt of the completed enrollment form. Membership benefits begin immediately and are valid for a full 365 days from date of purchase.

Certain limitations apply to enrollment. Some insurance plans prohibit enrollment in discount plans and HSA or FSA benefits may not be available for services received. Please inquire with our front desk or billing department to find out your eligibility for enrollment in ChiroHealthUSA.

Care Credit

Senara is proud to offer Care Credit as a financing option for our medical and chiropractic clinic guests. If you would like to use Care Credit to pay for qualifying services, please let our front desk know, and they will be happy to review our current financing options available.
